So I watched this movie last night called "Front of the Class" it's a true story about a man named Brad Cohen who has Tourettes Syndrome, and who overcame the impossible to become an award winning teacher and motivational speaker and an inspiration to all. He started having his Tourettes "tics" and making these random "barking" like sounds. When he was about 6. In school he was teased physically and emotionally by his peers, and was thought he was doing these purposely to get attention, even by his father. One teacher made him stand up in front in front of the whole class and made him apologize and promise he wouldn't make those sounds again, when he sat down he made his sound and was sent to the principals office...where he spent most of his school career, he was eventually diagnosed. Through his experiences at school and not having the support of his teachers inspired him to "become the teacher he never had". and he went on to get his teaching degree, and that's not where his story ends...he went on 24 interviews with the administration not wanting to take a chance on someone with a disability even though he was fully qualified. One school took a chance finally took a chance. He eventually went on to receive his Masters degree, got married and become an award winning teacher, and motivational speaker and educating people on Tourettes Syndrome and still teaches today. Click here to learn more about the movie. And click here to learn more about Brad Cohen and his story. His story is truly inspirational and teaches us about faith and hope and when you try hard and believe in yourself you can do anything you set your mind to even if it seems close to impossible, and it's a story that touched my heart. If you didn't watch it I highly recommend you do. Or read his book "Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had" I'm definitely going to read it.
