So the Lynnwood Stake had our annual Stake Conference and this conference was different because our Stake Presidency was getting released after 9 years and we were getting a new Stake Presidency. A member from the Quorum of the Seventy came and interviewed the members of the High Council, and Bishops to see who would be the new Stake Presidency. My dad was one of those candidates and luckily he wasn't called...but anyways...the morning of conference my parents and I were discussing who might be the new stake president (and I had thought it might be my daddy) but I knew it wasn't, I said Now that I know it's not you, I just hope it's not Bishop Lee. (The bishop over my ward) I saw Bishop Lee later that morning and I told him that I really hope it's not him. But when the member of the seventy announced who was going to be our new Stake President it was Jeffery B. Lee (My bishop) my jaw just hit the floor. You can just imagine my shock and dismay. I was crying. (I was happy that he was called to be our Stake President but I'm sad that he is no longer going to be my bishop) The Halls Lake Singles ward were all in tears due to this news. I have gotten really close with Bishop Lee and he is an incredible man who is such a wonderful priesthood holder. I know he'll do a great job in this calling but it's going to be hard not having him as a our Bishop any more and transitioning to a new Bishop.
During Stake Conference he bore his testimony my friend Rikayla and I were both in tears and he was also in tears as he mentioned the Halls Lake Ward and how much he was going to miss us and how hard it was going to be leave our ward. He couldn't really talk about the ward too much because it was too hard for him. As I went up to him afterwards we just gave each other a big hug and I said congratulations and told him how much the Halls Lake Ward loved him and will miss him. I was of course in tears and he told me as he was giving me a hug that it was going to be okay.
A friend of my parents came over for dinner last night (he had served with Bishop Lee and the Halls Lake Ward as our High Council Leader) and asked me what I thought about it, and I said I'm excited for him and he'll make a great Stake President but I'm having a hard time with it. I don't do well with change and having a new bishop and not having Bishop Lee as our bishop anymore is going to be really hard on me.
Like I said I know the Lynnwood Stake will be in good hands and will benefit from his leadership. I've known first hand what a great bishop he was so I have no doubt that he will lead the Lynnwood Stake well.

I'm glad he's serving to the full capacity of his potential. Bishop Lee is an amazing man with an amazing spirit. I'm so glad that I can attest to the spirituality of every member of the new stake presidency, as I have had each of them as a Bishop. Just remember how difficult we all thought it would be when Bishop Rudd was released, then we got an amazing Bishop out of Bishop Lee. I don't doubt the same will be true with this new bishopric. Have faith that the Lord has the ward's best interest at heart. :) Can't wait to hear who is called as your new Bishop!
Thanks Courtney! I agree with you 10010% that we'll have a great new bishop and I know he'll do GREAT as a stake president! It is just hard knowing he's not our bishop anymore. I'm doing better now that the initial shock has subsided. But it still doesn't make it any easier. I do agree that we have a WONDERFUL new stake presidency and they will no doubt do a wonderful job leading the Lynnwood Stake and I know that they were called of God to lead us. Thank you Courtney for your kind words!! Hope you're doing well!
