Activity's Day Camp

So I had the wonderful opportunity to be a group leader at Activity's Camp a few weeks ago. Activity's Day camp is for the girls in the Stake ages 8-11. For 3 days the girls get to come to the stake center and do various activity's. learn new skills, have fun and get to know other girls!. I had such an AMAZING and I mean AMAZING group of girls. I had the girls that were 10-11 so this is probably their last year of camp before they go into Young Women's, and I went there and I didn't know who ANY of my girls were at all as they were all in the May's Pond or Beverly Park Ward. So I was kind of nervous because like I said I didn't know my girls, not only that but I had 11 girls by myself (I know in my pictures it looks like I only had 10 I only brought my camera the last day and one of my girls wasn't able to attend the last day). But because I had such a good group it didn't feel like I had 11. But we had such a fun time. The activity's that we got to do were

Star Service- We made File folder and other games for kids who were at the Women's Battered shelter (we did this station the 1st and 3rd day)
Star Beautiful You- We learned about what makes us beautiful inside and out as well as dressing modestly and they also got to make little mirrors that said "I am beautiful, I am a child of God" and the second day they made friendship bracelets (We did this station the 2nd and 3rd day)
Star Science- This station was really fun...they learned about light and then they got to made a special bracelet with beads that are white then when you go out into the sun the UV/UVB changes the beads to color, and then they made sun prints and the second day they learned about velocity and then they got to shoot off bottle rockets we did these stations the first 2 days and I didn't have a camera so unfortunately I didn't get any pictures from science. (We did this station the 1st and 2nd day)
Star Archery-They got to learn archery safety. All of my girls did so well at this station. Especially the second day. (We did this station the 2nd and 3rd day)
Star Sewing-They made pajama pants. All the girls picked out fabric and cut the pattern out before camp so all they had to do when they were at camp was sew them. Some of my girls had a harder time with sewing than others but all their pants turned out cute, as you can see in the picture below. (We did this station the 1st and 3rd day)
Star Culture-At this station they learned about Japan. The first time they learned about Japan and also about the different food they have there. Then they got to make Rice Cakes. The second day we learned how to write our name in Japanese, and Origami. Then they made origami baskets, and a bookmark with their name written in Japanese (We did this station the 1st and 3rd day)
Star Cooking- This was my girls favorite station I think. Now you know me and I LOVE cooking. It is a lot of fun and I know that all of my girls thought it was too. The first rotation we made Pizza and made our own pizza crust and then make it our own with our toppings. The second day we made Ice Cream cone cupcakes with butter-cream frosting. We didn't make the cupcakes because they needed to be cool. But they learned how to make them, but we did make our own butter cream frosting. It was SO yummy. Then they got to decorate their cupcakes with sprinkles, fondant if they wanted to it was a lot of fun! (We did this station the 2nd and 3rd day)
Star Hip-Hop-Every year they learn a hip hop dance to perform for the parents the last day of camp. (We did this station everyday)
Star Choir-Every year they learn a song to sing for the parents on the last day of camp, and it usually goes with the theme of camp. This year the theme was "I know my Savior Loves me" and the song we sang was "I feel my Saviors Love" (We did this station every day)

Camp was SO much fun and I'm glad I got to know the girls that were in my group. I had the best group of girls. Below are just a few of the pictures from camp there are more on Facebook
