one- Jason Vargas pitched beautifully and pitched a 7 inning shutout and ended up getting the W 3-0!! He has now I think they said has pitched 16 scoreless innings. And last night he matched his career high is strikeouts (he got 9 K's) He also got his fast ball up to 90 miles an hour which is high for him he usually is in the 80's.

Another monumental event of last night, Franklin Gutiérrez played his first Major league game of the season. He has been on the DL all season due to a stint of stomach and digestive issues which caused him to loose a considerable amount of weight. Anyway, he has finally gotten over his stomach issues and played in AAA for awhile to get his strength. Anyways long story short...it is SO great seeing the Golden Glover and Major Leagues best Center fielder back in his post!! They are still determining how often he will play because they don't want to push him, but it was SO great seeing him back in the line up last night!!
