LillyAna's Baptism

LillyAna June Hartup was baptized on March 1, 2008. Congratulations to LillyAna! My brother (her uncle) came up with the kids to share this special day with Lilly I can not tell you how proud I am of LillyAna. So her program was GREAT. A member of the bishopric from Beverly Park Ward Brother Acey conducted. The Alderwood 1st ward Primary President Rachel Michaelis spoke on baptism and it was a GREAT talk, she had this lesson with footprints and had her stand on her birthday to the time of her baptism and told her to "leap" over to the baptism date. She couldn't and then she had footsteps leading up to baptism such as "faith". "repentance", "scripture study" etc...then when she stopped on baptism she had another footstep that was leading to out Heavenly Father and she was like leap to our Heavenly Father and she of course couldn't do it. She goes on to explain that our progress doesn't stop at baptism, we still need to continue to do the things that we did prior to baptism all our lives. What a great lesson. Then we proceeded to the baptism my father Dennis baptized her with her home teacher and Jeff (my bro) as the witnesses. While she and my father were changing Lori Vance played prelude music. After they came out I sang "When I am baptized" for her and I almost started crying. She then proceeded to have her previous primary teacher Sister Oien talked about the Holy Ghost she read her a story about a princess who was given a gift and then goes on to explain to her we receive a special gift which is the Holy Ghost. LillyAna was then confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. After which Bishop Vance welcomed her as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Afterwards we had a get together at mom and dad's house for food and fun stuff. I can't tell you how PROUD I am of LillyAna, She has such an incredible love her Heavenly Father even at the age of 8. She has been such a wonderful example to me.

CONGRATULATIONS LILLYANA
