My awesome Black Friday

So like I said on Thanksgiving we look at ads to see if there was anything worth getting up for. Jana had seen some things she wanted to get but obviously couldn't be at several different stores at once. So mom and I decided we'd help her out. Jana wanted me to get this child's camcorder at JcPenny's (which was a FABULOUS deal by the way) which would be requiring me to be the 1st one up as JcPenny's opened at 4:00 a.m., mom was going to ToysRus at 5:00 a.m., and dad who was going to Lowes 6:00 a.m. I ended up staying at my parents house that night since they live fairly close to the mall. I couldn't fall asleep so by 1:00 I figured there's no point in even trying to sleep. So I drake Diet Coke and watched Jon and Kate plus 8 the rest of the night (which was a good thing because the alarm on my phone didn't go off). I left my parents house at 3:15 a.m. and headed to the mall....Not only was there not a really long line at JcPennys I was also able to get a covered parking spot super close to the store!!! How lucky am I? But that's not all...JcPennys even opened their doors 15 minutes early!!!! AWESOME right? I beelined for that camcorder and found it pretty quickly and they were about 1/4 of the way gone. I grabbed one and went straight to the check out counter...as I was checking out I get a call from Jana asking me if I was able to get the camera and she wanted me to see if I could find these boots that were in the ad too just as I had finished writing the check. I tried to find them but unfortunately couldn't so she told me not to worry about it, but wanted to know if I would go to ToysRus and stand in line and meet mom there in a minute. I told her I would and left the store...Total time in JcPenny's: 10 minutes!!!

When I got to ToyRus I again was able to secure an excellent parking spot. The line was not incredibly long at all I was maybe 3 feet away from the "EXIT" door. Mom met me there about 15 minutes later (it's about 4:30) we waited in line about another 30 minutes. When we got into the store mom and I separated while I went to find a certain thing and mom went to find another thing and meet at the checkout. I found what I was looking for, found mom (we ran into Karen Farrar there too), and then got checked out. Total time in ToysRus: 15 minutes.

I was so proud! We got back to the house before dad's store even opened at 6:00.

I stayed at mom and dad's and tried to get a quick little nap because we were going to meet Lisa, her mom, and the Dibbles for breakfast at 8.:30. I again couldn't fall asleep ..(which was surprising to me).... so I ended up watching t.v.

We had breakfast at this little cafe called "Striklers" or something..(it's by "Tuesday Morning")...it's such a cute little restaurant and has AMAZING food, I highly recommend it. My mom took me there for lunch awhile back. Anyway again the food was AMAZING.

After breakfast we went home so mom could print up an e-mail coupon from "Avenue" and then again more shopping. Yay! Mom and I had fun looking at all the clothes except most stuff there is too big for me..but it was fun nonetheless..and there was that fun little mishap of my mom forgetting her coupon at home (luckily I had printed one for me and I was going to let her use it they were having a $5.00 sweater Sale with that coupon and I had found a sweater I liked but didn't didn't need it) but the staff there were cool and gave her another one! So it worked out and I was able to use mine.

So I was amazed how well shopping ended up working out for me, a close parking spot (twice), fairly close spot in line, JcPennys opening early, and getting EVERYTHING we had set out to buy. The only minor snag I had was while checking out was the computer had a hard time processing my check because it was a starter check...but it worked out in the end they just ended up manually entering it. So I could've been out of JcPennys sooner. Oh well.

It's times like this that I'm grateful I'm small...I can maneuver around people fairly easy! Ha ha

Sadly dad didn't have it so easy at his store...but that's a different story.
