Hey everyone hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a TON of people over they consisted of the...
* Hartup Family- (Dennis, Peggy, Julie, Josh, Jana, LillyAna, Adrian, Isabella, and Hananh)
* Vance Family- (Evan, Lori, Tanner, Caden, Kyler, and Ayla)
* Dibbles- (Alan, and Dianne)
and Lisa
That's right 18 people 10 adults and 8 kids
Anyways considering how many people there were this year it was actually very LAID BACK! I had been sick with the flu a week prior to Thanksgiving and was just starting to feel better Tuesday so on Wednesday night I went to help my mom help prepare and clean and get the house somewhat ready. Mom bought 2 smaller turkeys this year because she couldn't find 1 big turkey for some weird reason so we cooked on Turkey on Tuesday and carved it for Thursday.
On Thursday I went over to their house about 11:00 and helped finish cooking and cleaning and setting the table and all that fun stuff. CRAZY but the house smelt AMAZING! Anyways people started arriving around 2:30 everybody had brought things.
Mom- Pretty much main courses (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, a couple of pies and some
appetizers
Vance's- Candied yams, a couple of pies, sparkling cider
Dibble's- jello, rolls, pies
Jana- Green Bean casserole (which is absolutley amazing NO LIE)
Lisa- Mashed potatoes
me- Deviled eggs.
and everyone brought some appetizers like veggie trays, crackers, chips etc...needless to say we were not aching for food)
Anyways after eating massive amounts of food....we have a tradition that dad in the morning picks up 2-3 newspapers and we go through the ads to see if there is any "Doorbuster sales" worthy of waking up at 3:00 in the morning and standing in line.
That usually lasts about an hour...after our food has had a chance to semi-digest we broke out the pies... our pie count this year ladies and gentleman.........7 we had a chocolate mouse, pumpkin, cherry cheesecake, pecan, coconut cream, pistachio cream. and a banana cream.
After pies it was just socializing time....the kids watched a Disc of like 3-4 episodes of Planet Earth. Everyone left fairly early. But the kids had great time...the boys had fun playing football/catch in the back yard they had gone with their dad/grandpa to the Annual "Turkey Bowl" and apparently Adrian and Caden did EXTREMELY well even beating the adults.
So proud...here are some of pictures I took from Thanksgiving not very good quality because it's with my phone and I didn't take that many. See my Myspace or Facebook for more!
