Ok, so the YSA conference in July was SO much fun...Renae had recruited me to be her partner on the committee because no one wanted to go down to Tacoma all the time so I was an honorary member of the committee. Anyways so I went down to Tacoma several times to help plan the conference, and the day of the conference I wasn't sure if I even wanted to go to conference but I'm SO glad I went it was the most fun I had in a long time.
So the day of the conference Renae picked me up and we went down early to the BBQ to give some things to Matt (who ended up not being at the the park he was a the Temple Theater where we were having the Short film Contest) it was such a cool opera building with different levels it was so cool.
So me and Renae went there to help set up at the theater instead of going to the BBQ. Not only that but we were meeting our VERY own LDS actors/musician/comedians Kirby Heyborne (who most of you know from the Singles Ward, and several other LDS films) and Corbin Allred They are so funny and nice and they did such an amazing show and I'm glad I got to meet them
(pictures with them are going to be coming soon)
After the show me and Annie spent the night at Renae's apartment because me and Renae had to be back down in Tacoma early. We got back down to Tacoma about 8:30 the next morning and me and Renae pretty much sat down for breakfast and then we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off because the workshops and speakers is what N. Seattle's multi stake committee was in charge of so we had to make sure the workshops were running smoothly. The workshops were AWESOME. Our very own Bishop and Sister Lee spoke at a couple of the workshops. They are such great speakers and I love them and am glad they were willing to speak at the conference. Our keynote speaker was LDS weightlifter Melanie Roach who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing China. She is such an inspirational speaker and am lucky to have gotten to know her. After the workshops we divided into dinner groups. Me and Renae decided to go to by ourselves and get something quick so we ended up getting McDonald's and then went back to the building to help set up for the dance. The dance was fun (it was a dance) Then we went home.
This conference was SO much fun and I'm so glad I got to meet so many people in the process of planning this. Matt Van Gieson, Rachel Daines, Kirby Heyborne, Corbin Allred, and Melanie Roach and getting to spend time with Renae and getting to know her more.
