Halls Lake Ward Talent Show 2010

So the Halls Lake YSA Ward had their annual Talent Show yesterday (March 12th), and I'm glad that I was able to attend because I had been sick earlier that week but was feeling well enough to attend the talent show. We had it a little earlier this year than we normally have it due to some changes happening in our ward. The biggie obviously getting a new bishopric...so we wanted this activity to be the last activity with our old bishopric. Also another reason is a member of the ward Joe Cannon is in the talent show EVERY year and does some amazing things on the guitar. Every year he gets a little band together and does a performance. This year it consisted of Joe on guitar, Jordan Rudd on bass, Missi Sturgis on vocals, and another friend of Joe's from another ward on drums. It was AMAZING!! Anyways this is Joe's last Talent show for 2 years as he is going to Phoenix, Arizona on his mission and he leaves on March 31st so the Activities committee decided to bump up the date of the talent show so he could perform one last time. Also like I said with the new & old bishopric in the ward we wanted each bishopric to do something. Our old Bishopric did a performance from Backstreet Boys ("I want it that way") It was pretty amazing!! They had their wives sit up front and they "sang" to them!! It was so cute!! And our new Bishopric formed a band with each of their wives and sang "Twist and Shout" it was awesome!!! We had a couple of piano pieces one by Jordan Rudd, and another by Ben Gessel, our Elders Quorum Presidency performed "Brown Eyed Girl" a poetry reading by Carissa Quisenberry, a performance from the play "Wicked" by Rikayla Douge and Heidi Clark, and a Star Wars skit by Napoleon Martin and a couple of his friends. We also had a couple displays Anna with some jewelry that she made, and Laurel with a quilt that she made, and a stitch work piece she did. Then after the performance portion of the night the Halls Lake presented the old Bishopric and their wives some mementos from us to remember us by, followed with a slide show presentation of some pictures of the last 4 years that they have been our Bishopric.
