OK, I know it's only been a week since I said I wouldn't be posting for a month. Well...obviously didn't happen..I know you're all wondering why I'm back only after a week...well let me start from the beginning.
Well first things first...
Q: Where Did I serve?
A: Everson, Washington (which is WAY North past Bellingham and about 10-15 minutes from the Canadian Border)
Q: Who was my companion?
A: Her name was Sister Halladay (sounds like Holiday) She is from Provo, Utah and was absolutely amazing she was on her last transfer so I wish I could've finished my mission with her...but unfortunately didn't happen?

Now the question you're all dying to know!!
Q: Why the heck are you home only after a week, when you were supposed to be gone for a month?
A: I broke my ankle after only being in Everson for 36 hours.
Q: WHAT? You broke your ankle? What happened?
A: Well, I had sprained my ankle about 5-6 months ago....Well on Thursday morning me and my companion were leaving our apartment to exercise and I stepped off the step of our porch wrong or something and ended up falling and re-injuring my ankle. Well needless to say we didn't go exercising or do any proselyting that day...we called our mission President's wife who told us to call Dr. Hickman. Dr. Hickman said to ice and elevate it for 48 hours and if it's not better then he would want to do an x-ray. Well by Saturday it WASN'T any better. So the Bellingham's recently released Stake President, President Hoyt told me and Sister Halladay to come to his house. Well we went over to his house where they gave me some crutches, a brace and bought me a brand new air cast they are SO nice. Anyway he was 99.9% sure it was broken and tried to schedule an x-ray right then and there but NO imaging place was opened on Saturday so I would have to tough it out until Monday.
Sunday I went to church and and toughed through my pain (which actually honestly it wasn't that bad) because my companion and I were actually supposed to be speaking in Sacrament meeting (which I didn't because I couldn't stand) and also by this point I didn't know that my ankle was broken. So I actually went to 3 hours of church PLUS a missionary meeting after church. Then my companion and I went to a members house for dinner. Like I said at this point I didn't know my ankle was broken...I know I'm a trooper right?
Monday morning my companion and I went to get x-rays and President Hoyt said he would give us a call with results. Well about 1:00 or so in the afternoon we received the call from President Hoyt that YES my ankle is broken and that I am NOT to move unless absolutely necessary. He also referred us to a doctor to talk to to see if I could continue my mission. We went the doctor about 4:30 and he told me that it's a stable fracture but it could become a unstable fracture if I put weight on it and wants me to stay off of it for 2 weeks. So my companion and I talked to our mission president and we all decided that it didn't do any good for me to be out there when would be house bound for 2 weeks when I only had 4 more weeks to go, that would be counter-productive. So they made the decision to close down Everson until next transfer...which was the reason I was going there in the first place...I would go go home, and my companion went into a 3 pack. So last night Sister Halladay and I were emotional as she and I said goodbyes to some of the people in the ward and packed our stuff, and today (Tuesday) I came home at 1:00 this afternoon and was released as a missionary.
Q: So then what now?
A: Well, I am now home, (obviously) and I like I said am supposed to stay off of my ankle for 2 weeks and then at that point I'll get re-evaluated and at that time if it's healed enough go into a boot for a while (roughly 4-6 weeks I'm guessing)
So, I'm REALLY kind of bummed that I didn't get to finish my mission and be able to finish with Sister Halladay. But I've met SOME amazing life long friends the short time I was in Everson. Sister Halladay (of course)The McCormmick Family, Lisa, Candice, The Olynslager Family, the Hoyt Family, The Connely Family, the Schindler Family among just a few.....It was such a wonderful experience and I know that I was meant to meet these people and I know that I will be blessed for my service even though it was for just a short time.
Just so you know I'll be writing an other entry soon about my experience as a missionary and posting the few pictures I took, so stay tuned.

oh honey, I am so sory. I hope your ankle heals quickly. But I guess from a couple of entries up that you're in a boot so I guess that means you're doing better. Heal well and quickly. Sorry your mission was cut short
yeah it was kind of a bummer that my mission was cut short. But my ankle is doing semi-better. It still hurts and I'm just upset because this is my 1st broken bone ever. But oh well.
